About Green Jobs in Asia-Philippines
The Green Jobs Initiative, launched in 2008 by the ILO, the United Nations Environment Programme, the International Organisation of Employers and the International Trade Union Confederation, highlighted triple dividend from green jobs: sustainable enterprises; poverty reduction; and job-centred economic recovery.
The Green Jobs in Asia-Philippines aims to deepen ILO constituents understanding and commitments for the promotion of gender sensitive green jobs opportunities and a just transition for workers and employers towards a low-carbon, climate resilient, environmentally friendly development to accelerate jobs recovery, reduce social gaps, support development goals and realize decent work and productive work. The project, funded by the Government of Australia, is one of the green jobs initiatives of the ILO.
The project works with the ILO tripartite constituents – government, employers’ and workers’ organizations in the Philippines to address environmental and climate-related challenges and to contribute to sustainable development. The project’s goal is to help enhance their capacity to undertake just transition measures including green jobs governance, greening of enterprises and decent and productive work. Read more
